M. Talia White is a proud member of the Diné (Navajo) Nation. Her clans are Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water Clan), born for Tsenjíkiní (Cliff Dwelling People Clan). Her maternal grandfather is Honágháahnii (One Who Walks Around Clan), and her paternal grandfather is Tótsohnii (Big Water Clan). She is from Nakai Bito, New Mexico (Mexican Springs) and Tsehootsooi, Arizona (Fort Defiance), communities located within the Navajo Nation.

Talia’s career has been dedicated to empowering Indigenous students and creating spaces where they can thrive in higher education. Her professional experience includes work with the Institute of American Indian Arts, Mesa Community College’s American Indian Institute, and currently as Interim Director of Native American Student Affairs at the University of Arizona, where she continues to advance initiatives that strengthen educational pathways and celebrate Indigenous leadership, identity, and resilience.

Talia is passionate about helping students navigate both the academic and personal aspects of their educational journey, ensuring they feel seen, valued, and connected to community.
